Bartow's Great American Cleanup

Bartow is a caring community full of special events. There’s hardly a week that goes by that you won’t find something going on - whether it's an art show, benefit, special event or concert, you’re sure to find plenty to do to have fun and just celebrate living here.

On: April 03, 2010 @ 09:00 AM – 11:00 AM
Location: Greater Bartow area. The Chamber cleans up Mary Holland Park

Take part in the largest community cleanup event in the City of Bartow. The Solid Waste Department (SWD) and Keep Polk County Beautiful are partnering to kick off the Great American Cleanup, a nationwide cleanup initiative. Last year, more than 300 Bartow citizens and 13 civic clubs participated.

The cleanup is a project of the Greater Bartow Chamber of Commerce Bartow Leadership. The Leadership cleanup is at Mary Holland Park. Members of the Bartow Chamber wanting to enlist on the Chamber Leadership team, need to call Virginia Condello to put your name on the list, (863) 533-7125, or email virginia@bartowchamber.com .

Those who pre-register by March 12, 2010, will receive a free t-shirt and ticket to Bok Tower Gardens. In addition to these incentives, Keep Polk County Beautiful has partnered with Hands on Network and the Disney's Give a Day, Get a Day program. Those who pre-register may also be eligible for a free Disney Ticket for volunteering.

Supplies are provided by the Solid Waste Department and include: Great American Cleanup t-shirts (for those who have pre-registered), gloves, garbage bags and safety vests.

Following the cleanup, a grilled lunch is provided at Pavillion 16 at Mary Holland Park.
