Evergreen Cemetery Clean Up
Capital City Today
Please join us on Saturday, April 23rd to prepare the Evergreen Cemetery for the upcoming dedication of one of Polk County’s newest Historical Marker installations.
Evergreen is one of the oldest African American Cemeteries in Polk County. And, despite the City’s best efforts at maintenance, it is still in need of a little extra TLC to honor the occasion.
Bring your strong backs and arms, tough legs and good knees, along with some yard/garden tools, work gloves, cool, comfy clothes, and perhaps even a hat!
If you’re interested, please contact the Luster African American Heritage Museum for further information.
Please Call (863) 800-6872 or (605) 863-1344 or E-mail journey42@hotmail.com
Let’s honor those who have gone before us with this beautification effort in their memory.
Iced water, beverages, and snacks will be provided. The City of Bartow and the Keep Bartow Clean and Beautiful initiative will be providing free picnic lunches and t-shirts at Mary Holland Park for those volunteers who sign up by April 19th. Work will get started at 8:00 am on Sat. April 23rd.
