Available Rooms for Rent

Dixon Central Rotunda

The rotunda of the old 1908 Polk County Courthouse is the centerpiece of the museum. The entryway welcomes guests with its ornate stenciling and dome. The rotunda floor features a hand-laid tile rosette. This area is specially suited for small receptions.  View Rotunda Layout

1908 Courtroom

The courtroom consists of wood flooring and original courtroom benches. This room is available for educational uses, ceremonies and other low impact events.  View 1908 & 1926 Courtroom Layouts

1926 Courtroom

This courtroom is multi-functional, whether hosting a wedding reception, dance, or conference. This room is suitable for all large occasions. View 1908 & 1926 Courtroom Layouts

Conference Room

The conference room is located on the third floor. This room is most suitable for small business meetings, presentations and private events.  View 3rd Floor Conf Room Layout

Booking an Event

Rooms may be rented in the museum Tuesday – Friday from 5:00 P.M. to 11 P.M., and Saturdays from 3:00 P.M. to 11 P.M. In order to book an event at the museum you must fill out a Facility Use Agreement Form and submit the form along with a $200 security deposit to the museum office. You may pick-up Facility Use Agreement forms at the museum or request we mail one to you by calling us at: (863) 534-4386. If event insurance is required for your proposed rental, it may be purchased through the following site, or any other licensed and accredited agency. Event Insurance Website

Special Events

Security Deposit
To secure the date(s). Separate from rental fee and refundable after event if there are no damages or extra time used
Base Rental Fee (4 hours)
Includes set-up, take-down & clean-up time
Each additional hour (or fraction thereof)
For events that include alcohol, additional fees and paperwork are required. Contact PCHC staff for details and requirements
Equipment Storage
Per day for materials not removed after event.
Non-Profit Rental Fee
Per day, of fraction thereof, during normal PCHC operating hours .* For non-profit before/after hours events, regular rental fees apply

Rental Cancellation Policies

Although cancellations are sometimes necessary, the following guidelines apply to all cancellations:

  • Cancellations 10 days prior to the scheduled event date will result in an 80% refund.
  • Cancellations less than 10 days prior to the scheduled event date will result in no refund.
