Entry Fee: $20 up to (date) $25 day of event. There are no refunds.
Date: March 6, 2021 Painting time: 9-11 am.
Suggest you preview site 8-8:30 am
Judging: 12-1 pm awards announced at 1:15 pm.
Support stamp: Each painting must bear official ink stamp on back of painting surface. Up to two surfaces will be stamped.
On site: Registration tent will be located at the Bartow Art Guild (next to information booth) on the corner of Main and Central. On site registration 8-9am day of the event.
Rules: This event is open to all artists 18 years of age or older. Check in: All artists will check in at the registration tent between (time) 8-9 am. Up to two painting surfaces may be stamped. Surfaces may be toned but will not have any line or image on the surface at time of registration. Painting: Artist setup may not impede the staging of the exhibitors. Painting will start at 9 and end at 11. Return to registration tent: You will have 1 hour to return to the registration tent and check in. Paintings will be checked for stamp at registration tent. You will then be directed to the standing gallery area where you will display your painting on your easel and it will be judged. When you check in with your finished painting you will be given a label for each. On the label you will put your Name, Title if any, medium, size and price or NFS. This label will be attached to painting/ frame easel where it can be easily read. Artist is to supply a floor easel or something comparable on which to display their work.
Judging: Paintings will be judged between 12 – 1. Winners announced at 1:15 At the registration tent.
AWARDS: 1st $100, 2nd $75, 3rd $50
Paintings/Drawings: Maximum size 11”x14” or 154 square inches, there is no minimum size Frames are optional but will help judging and with sale of the work. Acceptable mediums are, watercolor, oil, pastels, acrylic, pencil, Ink, mix medium. Only 2- dimension works will be accepted, photography and digital work will not be accepted in this event.
Sale of works: We encourage you to price your work for sale. Should there be an interested party artist will conduct the sale directly with the interested party. There is no commission paid to Bartow Art Guild.
Cautions/releases: All entries are displayed at artist’s risk. Bartow Art Guild will not be responsible for theft or damage to frames /paintings/ equipment. Submission of works for judging and sales constitutes an agreement by the artists to the provisions within this prospectus. Artists participating in this event grant permission for Bartow Art Guild to use their name and images for the purpose of advertisement in this and future show events. The artist waives any and all rights of copyright against Bartow Art Guild directors, officers and agents/volunteers. Artist allows sponsoring agents and news media the right to use a photo of your work in this and future promotions of this event. Parking will be an issue. Parking will be available around the perimeter of the event. Be prepared to walk.
Equipment: In addition to your Plein Air box you may wish to bring:
Small shade umbrella,
Camp stool or small folding chair
Collapsible Folding floor easel or comparable
Cooling rag
Frame and mounting hardware
