ENGAGE / BARTOW CHAMBER YOUNG PROFESSIONALS presents an up-close and personal chat with Polk State College’s Dr. Craig Collins. This session will give participants a chance to reflect on new and creative ways to achieve professional leadership goals based on best practices. About the Speaker:
Dr. Craig S. Collins, Associate Vice President for Corporate and Leadership Development at Polk State College, has long demonstrated a passion for serving others and assisting them in reaching their potential. His desire and pursuit of excellence in the arts and all facets of leadership have positioned him to purposely lead others to develop their own potential for leadership, consulting nationally in the areas of leadership coaching, faculty assessment, arts programming, and facilities design. Among his career highlights in K-12 and higher education are: His school turnaround achievement at the elementary level; facilities and program expansion at the prestigious Lois Cowles Harrison Center for the Visual and Performing Arts; and the Rainey-McCullers School of the Arts. Through his own LLC, Sterling Creative Consultants, he is sought after for facilitation of strategic planning processes, inclusive of data collection and identifying measurable outcomes. Dr. Collins is a certified trainer and distributor for DISC behavioral assessments through TTI Success Insights. Additionally, he facilitated the reopening of the City of Lakeland, subsequent to COVID-19 closures, through the Reopen Lakeland Taskforce. Among his leadership positions are having served as President of the International Network Arts Schools and President of the Florida School Music Association, as well as principal at the elementary and secondary levels and dean at the university level. Having served on the board of directors for multiple nonprofit organizations, he presently serves on the board of directors for the Bartow Economic Development Council, Florida Children’s Museum, and People Like Us. He and his wife, Brenda, are blessed with three children (Chad, Kyle, and Courtney) and nine grandchildren.
