MAJOR FUNCTIONS
This is a Customer Service Representative (CSR) position working for the Bartow Airport Authority. Employees perform essential functions as outlined herein according to the functional assignment area. Work schedule will be ten (10) hour shifts, 8am – 6pm, four (4) days a week.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
The following statements describe the principal functions of this job and its scope of responsibility but should not be considered an all-inclusive listing of work requirements. Individuals may perform other duties as assigned, including working in other functional areas to cover absences or relief, to equalize peak work periods, or otherwise to balance the workload.
SECONDARY FUNCTIONS
CUSTOMER SERVICE
This is a front-line position that provides excellent customer service to members of the public and Government employees. Service is provided in person, by phone contact, and by email.
SUPERVISION
This position has no supervisory responsibilities. Requires self-supervision and independent judgment in most tasks.
EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, LICENSES, CERTIFICATIONS
Education and Experience.
High school diploma or general education degree (GED); with two-years of experience in one of the following areas: customer service, business, retail, and/or cash handling.
Preference will be given for experience with QuickBooks or DocuWare software.
Licenses.
Minimum requirement: Class E Florida Driver’s License.

Supervisor: Director of Leisure Services
Performs difficult professional and administrative work planning, organizing, directing and promoting athletic, recreational and aquatics programs, park operations, special events and serving as Parks and Recreation Manager; does related work as required. Work is performed under general supervision. Supervision is exercised over division personnel.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
• Assisting with planning, organizing and implementing parks, recreation, athletic, aquatics and related programs and services; assisting with budget preparation and implementation and personnel matters; preparing and maintaining records and files.
• Coordinates and directs all programs, special events and maintenance activities that are under the jurisdiction of sub-divisions including Parks, Recreation Centers, Cemeteries, Athletic Facilities, Aquatics and Recreation Programs;

Supervisory Responsibilities:
Supervises the employees within the Parks and Recreation Division. Education and Experience:
Graduation from an accredited college or university with major course work in Parks and Recreation or related field and six (6) years’ experience in parks and recreation with four (4) years in a supervisory capacity; or an equivalent combination of relevant education and experience which provides the necessary knowledge, skills, and abilities and other competencies necessary for the position.

RECREATION COORDINATOR SUMMER
This position involves organizing and conducting all types of recreational activities. This work to be performed under the direction of the Athletic Superintendent of the City of Bartow. Should possess some skills in team athletics/sports either through education or having been a part of a team. Coordinator is required to adjust their program in accordance with the facilities available and age groups attending. Coordinator’s work will be reviewed through field visits, staff conferences, and their activity reports.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
1. Organizes and supervises a wide variety of recreational activities, including team and individual games, contests, as well as all field trips
2. Enforces rules and regulations as set forth by the City of Bartow. Maintains safeguards against accidents and instructs children in safe use of equipment
3. Reports hazardous conditions and accidents to the proper department and administers first aid when needed
4. Handles all paperwork as it relates to attendance and activity of the children
5. Complete and turn in weekly reports and activity plans for assigned program site i.e. weekly log sheets, discipline reports, accident reports and supply requests

This work involves the assisting in daily operation of the City of Bartow Summer Recreation Program.
Work is performed under the supervision of the Summer Recreation Coordinator and the Athletic

Responsible for assisting in the daily activities including attending all field trips, games, arts and crafts

Conducts interviews for Code Enforcement Board; prepares code enforcement cases and presents cases to Code Enforcement Board;
Researches property ownership, legal descriptions, addresses, etc.;
Researches appropriate ordinances to determine if a violation exists;
Performs related tasks as required.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:
General knowledge of zoning regulations and various environmental codes;
General knowledge oflegal procedures related to the enforcement of ordinances and codes;
Knowledge of Florida Statute Chapter 162 as defined;
Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with associates and the general public;
Ability to enforce ordinances and regulations with firmness, tact and impartiality.
SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS:
Possession of an appropriate driver’s license valid in the State of Florida. FACE certificate preferred.
Progression through different levels in five (5) years required.

Perlorms responsible semiskilled work in the maintenance of the municipal golf course; does related work as required. Work is perlormed under regular supervision.
This is medium work requiring the exertion of 50 pounds of force occasionally, up to 20 pounds of force frequently, and up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects; work requires stooping, kneeling, crouching, reaching, standing, walking, grasping, and repetitive motions; vocal communication is required for expressing or exchanging ideas by means of the spoken word; hearing is required to perceive information at normal spoken word levels; visual acuity is required for visual inspection involving small defects and/or small parts, use of measuring devices, operation of machines, operation of motor vehicles or equipment, determining the accuracy and thoroughness of work, and observing general surroundings and activities; the worker is subject to inside and outside environmental conditions, extreme cold, extreme heat, noise, vibration, hazards, and atmospheric conditions.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS – TYPICAL TASKS:
Preparing, maintaining and mowing the golf course; maintaining course facilities.
Mows fairways, roughs and greens; changes pin location; rakes sand traps;
Top dresses and seeds greens as needed;
Assists with grounds improvement; lays sod; repairs cart paths and other facilities;
Trims and prunes trees; trims hedges;
Edges around sand traps;
Cleans practice green; keeps golf course clean and free of debris;
Mows, edges, weedeats and blows off cart paths;
Assists with the maintenance and cleaning of general clubhouse and grounds;
Perlorms related tasks as required.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:
General knowledge of the methods, materials and practices used in golf course maintenance; general knowledge of the equipment used to maintain a golf course and its safe operation; ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with associates, course guests and the general public; skill in the operation of golf course maintenance equipment.

Any combination of education and experience equivalent to graduation from high school

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS – TYPICAL TASKS:
Assisting in the operation of the water treatment plant; taking samples; performing routine tests; ensuring proper plant operation; maintaining records and files; preparing reports.
Makes regular inspection of plant and equipment to ascertain that it is in proper operation at all times;
Advises and assists when corrective action is required;
Collects samples for testing; performs tests relating to plant operations;
Checks all plant equipment and biological and chemical systems for proper operation and takes or advises necessary corrective actions;
Replaces chlorine cylinders and regulates the flow of chlorine;
Reads meters, gauges and dials and keeps logs of readings;
Reports needs for equipment repairs;
Backwashes filters; fills chemical feeder hoppers;
Performs plant maintenance, bulk chemical handling, groundskeeping and housekeeping duties;
Performs basic laboratory tests;
Assists with unloading, storage and dumping of bulk chemicals;
Keeps records and prepares reports;
Performs related tasks as required.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:
Some knowledge of water treatment plant principles and operating practices; some knowledge of the operating characteristics and maintenance requirements of a water treatment plant; ability to detect flaws in the operation of equipment and to effect proper remedial measures; mechanical aptitude; ability to keep records and prepare reports; ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with associates.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
Any combination of education and experience equivalent to graduation from high school supplemented by on-the-job and formal instruction in water treatment plant operations and some experience in the operation of a water treatment plant.
SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS:
Possession of an appropriate driver’s license valid in the State of Florida.
