39th Annual Mayor’s Prayer Breakfast Coming Up
Bartow Mayor Tanya Tucker welcomes everyone to attend the 39th Annual Mayor’s Sunrise Prayer Breakfast, which will be held Tuesday, March 31, 2026, at the Bartow Civic Center beginning at 8:00 a.m. Doors open at 7:30 a.m.

Lloyd Harris is a third generation Bartowan and retired as an Army Instructor, Army JROTC at Summerlin Academy in Bartow, Florida, where he taught Leadership Education for 27 years.
In addition, he retired from the Army and active Army National Guard after 22 years having served as a recruiter, unit administrator, and Special Forces (Green Beret) weapons sergeant.
He presently serves as the Historian to the Polk County Historical Commission and is a Director Emeritus and President of the Polk County Historical Association. He is the author of the Images of America, book entitled Bartow.
His hobbies include local history, heraldry, and genealogy. His historical articles have appeared in newspapers, periodicals, and radio. He maintains membership in numerous historical, veterans, and hereditary organizations.
Lloyd is active in his church, First Presbyterian of Bartow, where he serves as an Elder, teaches an adult Bible class, and sings in the choir.

Spiritual roots are very much a part of any community. The Chamber is very proud to present this breakfast meeting highlighted by a guest speaker, as well as participating from Bartow area pastors and spiritual leaders. Bartow’s Mayor serves as the event’s host. The event is open to the public.
