New Staff Member At Chamber
Capital City Today
The Bartow Chamber of Commerce is pleased to welcome Carolyn Simpson back as the Community Liaison focusing on membership.
Carolyn has had a long career in service to her community and has had an extensive background with the Bartow Chamber. Beginning her career in banking with Bartow’s Citrus & Chemical bank, Carolyn established both personal and professional friendships with many business leaders in the community. She was selected by C&C Bank and the Bartow Chamber of Commerce to lead the “Can Do” Membership Club for the chamber, which resulted in record Chamber memberships and participation in chamber programs. Carolyn was awarded the top salesperson for chamber memberships, receiving the prestigious Ambassador’s jacket.
Carolyn and her late husband, Billy Simpson have shared a lifelong passion of community stewardship in Bartow and surrounding communities through various businesses, clubs, organizations and leadership roles. Carolyn served as the first female Bartow Chamber of Commerce president in 1982 and to date, she and Billy are the only married couple who have both served as presidents of the Chamber.
In addition to her career in marketing with C&C Bank and her involvement with the Chamber, Carolyn currently sits on the advisory board for Community Bank and has enjoyed leadership roles with numerous countywide special events, festivals, and political campaign efforts.
Carolyn is thrilled to once again be in service to her community through this Chamber opportunity. She remarked, “I feel like I have come full circle by re-committing myself to Chamber growth. I firmly believe that membership in the Bartow Chamber of Commerce provides businesses with tremendous opportunities for community involvement, leadership, stewardship and citizenship – which ultimately results in the growth and success of the business and the community as well.”
Carolyn would like to thank Virginia Condello and the Chamber of Commerce team for allowing her to “come home” to the chamber and she looks forward to working together for a stronger Bartow.
